Who Is Eligible For The Grant?
Eligibility Criteria
- Business must be registered and operating in Singapore within the following sectors:
- Manufacturing, including Food Manufacturing (SSIC codes 10 to 32).
- Food Services, with a valid Singapore Food Agency (SFA) license and classified under SSIC 56 or 68104.
- Retail, classified under SSIC 47.
- Ownership and workforce requirements:
- Minimum of 30% local shareholding.
- At least one local employee at the firm level.
- Financial and employment limits:
- Group annual sales turnover of no more than S$100 million, or
- Group employment size of no more than 200 employees.
- All equipment purchased under the grant must be used within Singapore.
Application Date & Info
Companies can start applying from 1st Sep 2023 to 31st Mar 2026.
Companies will have up to 1 year from the time an application is approved to purchase and install equipment and submit for reimbursement.
Only mainly whitelisted equipment are eligible for claim, do refer to EEG’s website for the latest updates on the grant information.
Benefits of EEG
The Energy Efficiency Grant (EEG) is a Singapore government initiative designed to support businesses in adopting energy-efficient equipment, thereby reducing energy consumption and operational costs. The grant offers two tiers of support:
- Base Tier: Provides co-funding of up to 70% for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and up to 30% for non-SMEs on pre-approved energy-efficient equipment, capped at S$30,000 per company.
- Advanced Tier: Available for selected sectors, it supports larger investments with a cap of S$350,000 across both tiers, focusing on equipment that demonstrates significant energy savings.
By leveraging the EEG, businesses can lower electricity expenses, enhance operational efficiency, and contribute to Singapore’s sustainability goals.
